Lying approximately 5 km from Punakha and up on the hillside with good views of the valley area, the property is owned and managed by the well-respected former Penlop (regional governor) of Punakha.
The rooms are simple but comfortable and spacious with clean and plain bathrooms. Many have balconies and there are lovely views down across the river, the valley and the farmhouses and paddy fields in the other direction. There is a large dining area, a covered outside lounge and bar where you can relax after a day exploring the Punakha valley. Food is a combination of Bhutanese, Indian and Chinese and most meals are served as a buffet.

The hotel is located on top of the hill as one approaches Punakha valley. The hotel has a very lovely setting with a beautiful reception area with sit outs and rooms that overlook the valley.
The staff is very friendly and courteous and make you very comfortable from the moment you are in the hotel area. The food is good and presented very well. Although it is a buffet breakfast, the food is served on the table.
Wifi is available only in the reception and restaurant area.
The rooms that face the valley give the best view and one can be witness some beautiful sunrise within a misty setting.
– “Beautiful Hotel with Wonderful Surroundings”
The main hotel isa very attractive building, with the rooms spread out around it.Our room was part way down the hillside with a lovely view from our balcony down to the river. We had excellent wifi reception even on the balcony. The room was immaculately clean, the bathroom equally so. The shower was consistently hot and had good water pressure. There was only 1 teabag each, which wasn't enough really but after we asked at reception we were given more teabags without a problem.
The restaurant served a buffet dinner with a good range of hot dishes, both Bhutanese and Indian. Breakfast was also good - hot, filling and flavoursome. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and responded quickly to any requests and to clearing away dirty dishes.
We had 2 nights here and I would happily return. We loved it.
– “Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting”
Great views from the rooms out across the rice terraces of the Punakha Valley and the river below. We had two rooms for our family of five overlooking the valley, both with pleasant balconies. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable, although not luxurious. Bathrooms could do with a bit of an update. Sleep quality was excellent - no noise at all. WIFI did not reach the rooms but could be accessed in the restaurant and pleasant outdoor seating area. Food was similar to what we got everywhere in Bhutan, a buffet consisting of rice, noodles, chicken or pork and vegetables.
This resort is on a hill which means that rooms have a fantastic view of farmlands, greenery and mountains. Rooms and bathrooms though are pretty basic with the shower even lacking the accompanying tap. There are no wardrobes but only a sort of rack provided to hang your clothes. However, the balcony sort of makes up for the stark nature of the room and its facilities.
Indian vegetarian choices are limited. The dining area and service is ok. WiFi is available only in the common areas with reception in rooms being pretty weak and erratic
– “In the lap of nature”
Take the premium rooms as they have an amazing view. Rooms are very spacious and its bathroom also. Has a small balcony overlooking the mountain and road. The windows are huge and offers a great view. Very comfortable. The tub in the bathroom was leaking and thats the only thing that was not right. The restaurant is decent. Food cant be said as the highlight here. They have free wifi in the guest area. Staff was very helpful. The reception area is really beautiful. Feels luxurious to stay here though the room charges are not so high. Was there in May 2015.
