We went to Bhutan for a Holiday during the period 17th to 28th October 2015. We stayed in "The Royal Orchid Hotel " which is in Phuntsholing (border town between Bhutan & India ) on 18th Oct 2015 and we had a very good experience during our stay in this hotel.

Infront of this hotel there is a big football field and huge open space. Generally people would prefer to take rooms in the front side but we took (1) room at the back side since it had better views of the mountains. Although The check-in formalities took a bit longer than usual but the staffs were very polite and very co-operative.

The rooms were huge and the cleanliness is immaculate. All rooms had wooden flooring and wooden classy farnitures. Bathrooms had bath tubs and were exceptionally clean. In one word...true value for money.

Food was not that good since the chicken we ordered was not properly cooked. However the balcony was wise and we just sat there staring at the mountains for hours. Overall, a very pleasant and fulfilling stay.

    “Truly a Royal Stay !!!”

Had checked in on 28th of December 2016 with my family and had booked two rooms. The management was quiet helpful and polite. Clean bed clothing and neat rooms. Food was upto the mark but not so cheap but rather expensive. I give 3 out of 5. I was promised a car park while booking which was not provided. No complimentary breakfast as well botelled water but Would love to visit the place in future also. The property is situated along the highway to Thimphu so it's an easy excess.

“Very good for a place like phuntsholing ”

We drove down from gangtok to phuntsholing on our way to thimphu. The hotel also provides good vegetarian food. The rooms are luxurious and spacious. The staff is polite and courteous. The bathroom was neat and clean. It is located on the road to thimphu.

    “Good hotel to stay”

When we checked into the hotel, the lady at the reception upgraded our room to a suite room with the compliments of hotel. The suite room was quite big enough for three of us to sleep. There was a living room & a bed room in the suite placed with a large couch.
The food was delivered perfectly on time and was sumptuous. Next day we planned to have a brunch instead of Breakfast & lunch as we were moving to Thimphu that day. The meals ordered were nicely prepared and well garnished.

    “Good size rooms”
